I thoroughly enjoyed staying in this recently renovatedhip new hotel. The room was a nice size and pet-friendly with a really comfy bed, a fantastic bathroom, just what was needed. The staff was helpful, attentive, and everything was very good. The location was exceptionally nice and unbeatable and near gardens and lakes. The property was set in a good area. The venue had a cozy bar and a lovely restaurant. It was a just perfect experience.

The room was spotless and the views of the garden were fabulous. An electric kettle, central heating and a work desk turned out to be good. Marvellous location, it was a great stay on 2 nights of our 3 night stay.

We stayed overnight at the Damson Dene on route from the Cotswold to Glasgow. When we arrived were met by a friendly receptionist who explained all of the facilities offered at the hotel. Throughout our stay all of the staff that we met were friendly and polite. We ate in the bar in the evening and the food was very good. The breakfast was also very good with a wide selection of both hot and cold food, if you were lucky to have a table at an open window then you were joined by the ducks who were happy to share a slice of toast with you.

the hotel is an exelent place to stay the facilities are exelent it is in a good place for walkers or the lakes in either direction, it is a nice friendly family run hotel that caters for your every need. The pool and gym are a bonus while i was there we had a full body massage whitch we both enjoyed very much.
unfortunately what i didnt like was pets inside the hotel, inside the bar area were we spent most off our time my partner could scrape bunches of doghairs from the carpet with his shoe, i also did not like the food served in the restaurant i thought the menu was very limited the bar snacks were far more appertising. After walking most off the day you look forward to coming back to hearty meal not a wedge of sweet potato and a piece of chicken whitch did not go down to well. Concidering what could be on offer a bit dissappionting.

We were placed in an attic bedroom with no help offered with our luggage.it was very small but just adequate for our 2 night stay. How are rooms allocated?we booked several months in advance and our standard of room did not feature on the website!

I stayed with my mother as we were visiting family and friends. We saw the hotel on the channel 4 programme and we liked the fact that we could bring our dog with us for the visit. I am amazed the lack of accommodation in the lake district for pets.I Really liked the hotel the rooms were very nice and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and going forward we will book up again when we come up tp the lakes again.

The friendly service, with a lovely warm atmosphere upgraded with a real fire in the reception area. The spacious double room featured a large bathroom and a comfortable bed, ensuring a good night's sleep. Dining was a highlight, with delicious and generous portions at fair prices. The soft mattress proved challenging for a restful night on occasion.

The pool and sauna although slight problem with temperature - the water was colder than advertised. Fitness centre good and included in price.
View from the room was poor - visitors/staff sometimes smoked outside and smell of smoke was evident in the bathroom despite the window being shut.
